Another Class Description

We're really looking forward to Sir Corin's Blacksmithing class. The description is below. In case of wet weather (though we're fervently hoping the sun shines), there will be alternative classes.

Basic Black Smithing: This class will begin with a short introduction on setting up a cheap first forge. The introduction will cover: materials and construction, fuel and where to get it, air supplies and basic tools. Following this will be a practical demonstration making an arrow head, knife, fork and fire striker (or as much as time will permit).

Please note that because the venue has no covered outdoor space the running of this class is at the mercy of the weather.

If it's raining or especially windy Sir Corin will instead run two shorter classes 'Medieval Astronomy' and 'A brief history of Time Keeping'.

Medieval Astronomy: This class covers the basics of medieval astronomy and will help with understanding those medieval timekeeping devices that relied on astronomical calculations.

A brief history of Time Keeping: This class covers period methods of measuring time with demonstrations of some reconstructions of medieval time keeping devices.
